When Sandi Wagner, one of the new owner’s of Council’s in downtown Bradenton went looking for a location to start a new restaurant or bar, she walked into Council’s and was immediately impressed by the nostalgia of it all. “I used to come in here and sit in the corner,” Sandi said. “I grew up in a pool hall with my dad.”
It’s been a little over eight months since a fire destroyed Sarasota’s iconic JR’s Old Packinghouse Café and the warehouses behind it. Walk in today, and it’s as if nothing ever happened. JR (JR Garraus) along with the hard work of his crew, customers and community has recreated this eclectic, down home bar and restaurant to look almost exactly as it has since the 90s when it first opened.
A new restaurant is opening on March 17 in Bradenton, Florida. Caddy’s At The Pointe is opening at the former location of Tarpon Pointe and Grill.

I have a bit of a rant this morning! Last night it was a little cold on the Suncoast ….cloudy, damp and in the 50’s. If you’re a local, you love it. If you’re a snowbird or on vacation, well you don’t like it! It was a good night to go out to eat!
