HILLARY CLINTON RALLY IN TAMPA!

Hillary Clinton

Note From The Sarasota Post:  Vicky's Sullivan's  story is not about politics.  She had the opportunity to receive a "Press Pass" for this event and took some really great photos!

Hillary Clinton came to Tampa at the Florida State Fairgrounds to talk to Floridians.  Florida is a key state in this 2016 election.  There was tight security at the entrances and a Sheriff’s helicopter was circling above the fairgrounds. Media from all over the country converged for the possibility of Clinton announcing her Vice President pick.

The crowd inside the entertainment hall was excited and patient.  Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams music blasted in the hall and kept the crowd moving while waiting.  Mrs. Clinton appeared at 5:50 p.m. after being introduced by Florida Senator Bill Nelson and a Tampa school teacher.  Smiling and waving at the crowd in an olive green pantsuit, she appeared relaxed.

She talked about visiting Orlando earlier in the day and meeting families from the Pulse nightclub shooting and police officials.  She talked about stopping the violence happening in the U.S. and working together because we can’t do it alone.  In a humorous moment, she said “I never thought I would say I agree with Ted Cruz about anything”, referring to his speech moment at the RNC.

She spoke approximately 40 minutes to a standing ovation. She then worked her way around the room, taking selfies, talking to people and generally having a good time.  After leaving the fairgrounds, Mrs. Clinton called her VP pick and President Obama to announce her choice of Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia as her running mate. They will both appear on Saturday in Miami at Florida International University Arena. The Democratic National Convention begins on Monday in Philadelphia.
