Phoebe Hunt Returns to Sarasota for Solo Show at Fogartyville

Named one of the ‘Top 10 New Country Artists you Need to Know’ by Rolling Stone Country, Phoebe Hunt returns to the Fogartyille Community Media and Arts Center on Saturday, July 7 at 8pm.   An accomplished Americana instrumentalist with foundations in jazz and swing music,

Phoebe is skilled at taking seemingly disparate elements and pulling them together in a dazzling kaleidoscope of lush, coherent sound and rhythm patterns.  The result is music that swells, crashes, and breathes organically under Phoebe’s soulful, plaintive voice.  The Trailside Phantoms, a high-energy local Americana band, will open the show.   Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets are available at www.wslr.org

Those who have followed the fiddler/vocalist, once a member of the wonderfully eclectic The Belleville Outfit, know she is no stranger to coloring outside of genres. Hunt makes an impressive leap with her latest album, Shanti's Shadow, released in 2017 on Popped Corn Records. It's the culmination of a five-year journey that has taken her from her Austin roots through Music Row, Brooklyn and even to India to study with seventh-generation master violinist Kala Ramnath. Along the way, Phoebe found her voice and delivered her most inspired set of songs to date -- the soundtrack to her self-discovery.

They seamlessly blend elements of rock, Americana, blues, jazz, and zydeco to create their signature “Americana Weird” sound. This high-energy group passionately delivers a driving, eclectic live set that is as diverse as its members. Creating music with universal appeal to lovers of all genres of music. The band’s instrumentation includes guitar, mandolin, keyboard/accordion, banjo, upright bass and drums.
