Passerine Kicks off Summer Tour with CD Release Party

Passerine

Ten-state tour to support their new album, Harbingers. The neo-traditional folk quartet Passerine will celebrate the release of their newest album, Harbingers, by cohosting a CD release party with WSLR Community Radio at the Fogartyville Community Media & Arts Center (525 Kumquat Ct., Sarasota, FL) on Saturday, June 18 at 8 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance/$15 at the door, and are currently available for purchase online at www.wslr.org/station-events.

Harbingers is the band's third full-length, independent release following Nest of String (2013) and Another Song about a Bird (2012). It was recorded, mixed, and mastered over the course of 2015 and early 2016 at Burnt Orange Sound Studio in Bradenton, Florida, in collaboration with engineer/studio owner Matt DeSear.

"It was a pleasure working with musicians who could convey passion, emotion, and storytelling in their music," DeSear reflects. "The album is a wonderful mix of traditional and original songs that really touch one's feelings."

Passerine’s distinctive sound is built around the vocal harmonies of Carmela Pedicini (acoustic guitar) and Sara Stovall (fiddle) and backed by David Brain (dobro) and Doug Conroy (acoustic bass). Following their appearance at Fogartyville, the band embarks on a 20 date tour to share their brand-new sounds with fans throughout the eastern United States, from Florida to northern Maine.
